Each condition in brief

ADHD

DanShalom Behavioral Clinic evaluates and treats ADHD for ages 5 to 65. An evaluation is a careful conversation about history and daily life, supported by rating scales, not a single test. Treatment can include practical skills, therapy and, when appropriate, medication. Visits are in person in Sugar Land or by telehealth for people located in Texas, Idaho, Arizona or Maryland.

Anxiety

DanShalom Behavioral Clinic evaluates and treats anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety, panic attacks and social anxiety. Care starts with a psychiatric evaluation and can include medication management, brief therapy and practical skills. We see patients at our Sugar Land office and by secure telehealth for people located in Texas, Idaho, Arizona or Maryland.

Depression

DanShalom Behavioral Clinic treats depression with a psychiatric evaluation, medication management when appropriate, and brief psychotherapy, often in combination. You see the same provider at each visit, in person in Sugar Land or by secure telehealth if you are located in Texas, Idaho, Arizona or Maryland. If you are in crisis, call or text 988.

Bipolar & Mood Disorders

DanShalom Behavioral Clinic evaluates and treats bipolar disorder and other mood disorders at our Sugar Land office and by telehealth for people located in Texas, Idaho, Arizona or Maryland. Care starts with a careful review of your mood history over time, then continues with medication management, brief psychotherapy and regular follow-up with the same provider.

PTSD & Trauma

If reactions to a traumatic event have lasted more than a month and are disrupting your life, an evaluation for PTSD can help. DanShalom Behavioral Clinic provides psychiatric evaluation, medication management and brief psychotherapy in Sugar Land and by telehealth in Texas, Idaho, Arizona and Maryland, and coordinates with therapists who provide trauma-focused therapy.

Sleep Problems

DanShalom Behavioral Clinic helps people whose insomnia or poor sleep is connected to mental health, such as anxiety, depression, trauma or a mood disorder. We evaluate what is driving the problem and build a plan around sleep habits, therapy skills and, when appropriate, medication. Visits are in Sugar Land or by telehealth in Texas, Idaho, Arizona and Maryland.

Psychosis

Psychosis is a set of symptoms, such as hearing voices or holding fixed false beliefs, in which a person loses touch with reality. DanShalom Behavioral Clinic offers outpatient psychiatric evaluation, medication management and follow-up for psychosis at our Sugar Land office and by telehealth in Texas, Idaho, Arizona and Maryland, and helps arrange a higher level of care when needed.

Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is a serious mental illness that affects how a person thinks, feels and behaves, and effective treatments are available. DanShalom Behavioral Clinic provides outpatient evaluation, medication management and regular follow-up for people living with schizophrenia, in person in Sugar Land and by telehealth in Texas, Idaho, Arizona and Maryland, and helps arrange a higher level of care when needed.

Most people start with an evaluation. What comes next is decided together with your provider.

Questions patients ask

Do I need a diagnosis before I contact you?

No. You do not need to know what to call it. Many people come because of trouble focusing, worry that will not let up, low mood, mood swings, poor sleep or the effects of trauma. The psychiatric evaluation is how we work out what may be going on.

What if my concern is not on this list?

Send a request or call and tell us briefly what you are looking for. We will tell you whether the clinic is a good fit, and if it is not, we will suggest where else to look.

When is outpatient care not enough?

Each condition page has a section on when to seek urgent or higher-level care. If you or someone else is in danger, call or text 988 or call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room. The clinic is an outpatient practice, not an emergency service.
